MCS 150

Many Motor Carriers are beginning to receive letters and/or requests from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMSCA), for an MCS-150 form, along with a dead line to file the report. This is simply due to the fact that the FMCSA requires a “Biennial” update of your company’s information at least once every two years. This is not an insurance issue..

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) registration process requires that companies define the type of business operation (Motor Carrier, Broker, Shipper, Freight Forwarder and/or Cargo Tank Facility) that they plan to establish. FMCSA’s responsibilities include monitoring and enforcing compliance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR) and the Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR) governing both safety and financial responsibility.
